What's New NEW

R26.10 · Oct 2026Messages is now available in the CrmLeaf mobile app as well as the web app.

Overview

Messages is one-to-one chat inside CrmLeaf. You can message a teammate, or a client, directly without leaving the CRM, send files in the conversation, and see when your message has been read. It is for private two-way conversation. It is not the Notice Board, which publishes one-way announcements to a group.

How It Works

Choose a person → Send a message → They reply → Read receipt shown

  • Conversations are between two people: a user and another user, or a user and a client.
  • Messages can carry file attachments.
  • CrmLeaf shows read receipts, so you can see that a message was read.
  • New messages appear by regular refresh of the conversation, so a reply can take a short moment to show.
  • Messages is a module. If you cannot see it, an Administrator needs to enable it.

Who Can Use This Feature?

User

  • Start a conversation with a teammate or a client and send text and files.
  • Read and reply from the web app or the mobile app.

Administrator

  • Enable the Messages module so people in the account can use it.

Access depends on the modules and role assigned by your Administrator.

Prerequisites

  • The Messages module is enabled for your account.
  • The person you want to message exists as a user or a client in your account.

For Users

Step 1: Open Messages

What to do: Open Messages from your menu in the web app or the mobile app. Use Search or your menu if you cannot find it.

What to verify: You can see your existing conversations, or an empty list if you have none yet.

Step 2: Start or open a conversation

What to do: Choose the teammate or client you want to message, or open an existing conversation with them.

What to verify: The conversation is open with the right person.

Step 3: Send a message and attach files

What to do: Type your message and send it. Attach a file if you need to share one.

What to verify: The message appears in the conversation. When the other person opens it, a read receipt shows.

Expected Result

You can hold a private one-to-one conversation with a teammate or a client from the web or mobile app, share files, and see when messages are read.

Important Notes

  • Menu names and their position can differ between product editions and can be customised for your account, so your sidebar may not match these paths exactly. Use Search or your Quick Access items if you cannot find a screen.
  • Messages is one-to-one. Use project discussions for a topic that a whole project team should see, and the Notice Board for announcements.
  • Do not use Messages for anything your organisation requires to be recorded elsewhere, such as a client approval. Use the quote or contract flows for that.
