Availability: All editions. Core feature — no add-on required. You can only choose a start page from among the screens already on your own menu, so what is offered depends on your role, permissions and which add-on modules are enabled for your account — the same gating described in How to Configure Menu Layouts and Quick Access.

Overview

Your start page is the single screen CrmLeaf opens to as soon as you sign in — for example your private dashboard, your task list, or a Tickets queue you work from every day. It is set from your own Profile Settings and applies only to you.

This is a different setting from the item and section personalisation covered in How to Configure Menu Layouts and Quick Access. Personalising your sidebar changes what you see and in what order once you are inside CrmLeaf; your start page only decides where you land the moment you sign in. You can set a start page without touching your sidebar at all, or the other way round.

How It Works

You save one or more candidate pages to a personal list on the Start Page tab of your Profile Settings, and mark exactly one of them as active. Only pages that appear on your own menu can be saved — if a page is not on your menu, it is not offered. From then on, signing in takes you straight to the page marked active, instead of the account's default landing screen.

Open Start Page tab → Search for a page on your menu → Mark “Make it my start page” → Add → Sign in and land there

  • Only menu pages are offered. The page picker is gated to screens already on your own menu, the same permission- and module-based visibility described in How to Configure Menu Layouts and Quick Access. If you cannot see a page in your sidebar, you cannot set it as your start page either.
  • You can save more than one candidate. The saved list on the Start Page tab can hold more than one page, shown with a Status and an Action column, but only one can be marked active at a time.
  • Exactly one page is active. The “Make it my start page” checkbox marks which saved entry is the one used at sign-in.
  • There is a built-in fallback. CrmLeaf states this directly on the Start Page tab: if you lose access to your chosen start page — for example your role changes and the page is no longer on your menu — you land on the default page instead, rather than seeing an error.
  • This is personal. It is saved per user, like the item and section personalisation in How to Configure Menu Layouts and Quick Access, and does not need an Administrator to set up.

Who Can Use This Feature?

User

  • Search for and save any page already on their own menu as a start-page candidate.
  • Mark one saved page as their active start page.
  • Save more than one candidate page and switch which one is active.
  • Remove a saved page they no longer want to land on.

Access depends on the modules and role assigned by your Administrator. You can only choose from pages you can already reach — this setting never grants access to a page you could not otherwise see.

Prerequisites

  • You are signed in to the Company and Organization the start page should apply to.
  • The page you want to land on is already visible on your own menu.

For Users

Step 1: Open your Start Page settings

What to do: Open your profile and switch to the Start Page tab. Read the note at the top of the tab, which explains that only pages on your menu can be saved, and that you fall back to the default page if you lose access to your chosen one.

What to verify: You see the Start Page search field and, below it, a list of any pages you have already saved.

Step 2: Search for the page you want

What to do: Use the search field to find the page you want to land on, for example your private dashboard or a Tickets queue. The list is grouped by section — Work and similar groupings — and only shows pages already on your menu.

What to verify: The page you want appears in the results. If it does not, it is not currently on your menu — see How to Configure Menu Layouts and Quick Access to confirm what is visible to you before trying again.

Step 3: Mark it as your start page and add it

What to do: Select the page, check Make it my start page, and click + Add.

What to verify: The page now appears in the list below with a Status showing it is your active start page.

Step 4: Confirm it by signing back in

What to do: Sign out and sign back in.

What to verify: You land directly on the page you chose, instead of the account's default landing screen.

Step 5: Save additional candidates or switch which one is active, if you want

What to do: Repeat Steps 2–3 to save another candidate page. Use the Action column on an existing saved entry to change which one is marked active, or to remove one you no longer want.

What to verify: Exactly one saved entry shows as your active start page at any time.

Expected Result

Signing in takes you straight to the page you marked as your start page, instead of the account's default landing screen. If you later lose access to that page, you land on the default page instead, with no error.

Important Notes

  • Menu names and their position can differ between product editions and can be customised for your account, so your sidebar may not match these paths exactly. Use Search or your Quick Access items if you cannot find a screen.
  • This setting is independent of the item and section personalisation in How to Configure Menu Layouts and Quick Access. Setting a start page does not change your sidebar, and personalising your sidebar does not change your start page.
  • Only one saved page can be active at a time. Marking a new one active replaces the previous choice; it does not remove it from your saved list unless you remove it yourself.
  • You can only choose from pages already on your own menu. A page hidden by your role or by a disabled add-on module is not offered, even if a teammate has it as their start page.
  • If your access to your chosen start page is later removed — for example a permission or module change — you land on the default page instead, so you are never taken to a screen you can no longer reach.

Common Scenarios

Example: a support agent's queue. A support agent sets their Tickets queue as their start page, so signing in every morning takes them straight to open tickets instead of a general dashboard.

Example: a role change removes access. A user has a Projects screen set as their start page. Their role changes and Projects is no longer on their menu. The next time they sign in, CrmLeaf falls back to the default page instead of showing an error, and they can choose a new start page once they notice the change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a start page the same as personalising my sidebar?

No. Your start page only decides where you land the moment you sign in. Personalising your sidebar, covered in How to Configure Menu Layouts and Quick Access, changes what you see and in what order once you are already in CrmLeaf. You can use either one without the other.

Can I save more than one page?

Yes. You can save several candidate pages, shown in a list with a Status column, but only one can be marked active at a time.

What happens if I lose access to my start page?

You land on the default page instead. CrmLeaf states this directly on the Start Page tab, so you are never taken to a page you can no longer reach.

Can an Administrator set a start page for me?

Does my start page apply to every workspace I belong to, or just one?
